Dr. Mitzi Moore

The Itawamba County School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mitzi Moore as Interim Superintendent for the 2026-2027 school year. 

A native of Itawamba County, Dr. Moore has dedicated more than 30 years to serving students, educators, and families through a variety of leadership roles in education.  Her extensive experience, deep understanding of our district, and unwavering commitment to student success make her well prepared to lead the district during this transition.

Dr. Moore’s knowledge of our schools and community, combined with her passion for public education, reflects the values and traditions that have long been a part of the Itawamba County School District.  As Interim Superintendent, she will continue working alongside our students, employees, families, and community partners to support academic excellence and provide outstanding opportunities for every student.
