Monitor Balances Regularly

Parents and guardians are encouraged to check meal account balances regularly using MySchoolBucks.com. Please note: teachers and support staff are not responsible for managing student meal accounts.

Notifications for Negative Balances

The Child Nutrition Department will send daily calls and/or emails (Monday through Friday) to families whose child has a negative balance.

Charge Policy

Per the Itawamba County School District Student Charged Meals Policy, if an account remains unpaid, it may be referred for follow-up by a school counselor or principal, and in some cases, reported to appropriate state agencies, including the Department of Human Services.

Please take prompt action to bring accounts into good standing to avoid disruptions and additional steps.

Refunds are issued only under the following conditions:

  • The student has moved out of the district

  • The student has graduated

  • The student has qualified for free meal benefits

Once a check has been submitted and forwarded for deposit, it is no longer within the school’s control. Returned checks must be resolved directly with the bank.
